London leg

It has been a busy day.

First full day in London, with loads of walking about, and many photos taken.

Started off with a coffee (£1.20 for a triple expresso!) across the road from where we are staying (Think Apartments - London Bridge: http://www.think-apartments.com/locations/think-london-bridge/).

Then an enjoyable long walk trying to find a shopping district. Took a couple of hours.... but after lapping around the general area twice, we found it, and had an enjoyable breakfast ('Big Breakfast').

Wandered past Shakespeare's Globe theater. There was a somewhat ironic sign directly outside (No Busking!!!). Got eBeth to climb up a temporary wooden tower outside the Tate Modern. Pretty good with heights today :)

Spent some time wandering along the Thames before heading into the Carnaby (Regent street and Oxford street). Bought some pretty cool shirts. Maybe a photo or two to come (Grumblesaurus).

Around a quarter to five... and the streets started to get really busy. We decided that the subway was probably a bad idea and pent another 45 minutes wandering in the general direction home..... But!! We decided to hire a bike from Barclays Cycle hire (£2 for 24 hours if you keep the rides to less than 30 minutes, or £1 if you need an hour. They are everywhere!!!! Seriously: https://web.barclayscyclehire.tfl.gov.uk/maps). I am amazed how tolerant London cars to tourists riding like maniacs on there roads. Very friendy.. no horns, no rude comments. Still feels like you are taking you life in your own hands..... no helmets required.

Anyways.... we get back to the apartment and then decide some dinner is required. Very good pizza from up the road. Now off to bed.
